The object is to be the first player to get all the cards of a color-group and lay down your hand. House and hotel cards add to the value of your color-group while Token cards double your payoff! Mr. Monopoly cards add to the fun. Chance cards can make or break your hand. Build your hand through shrewd exchanges with your opponents. Keeping score is easy--just count the amount of Monopoly money you've accumulated. The first player to get $10,000 wins!
We had great fun playing this new game. We were a little slower than the 10 minute learning limit, however. We have only played two evenings but we played late into the night... not because it was LONG like the board game, but because we could play many rounds and challenge our own strategies to win 'next hand'.
We didn't decide for sure the rules concerning: Does someone always go out? Do you just keep trading until someone does? or, what if the draw pile is gone before someone does. If no one goes out, does the chance card nullify the Mr. Monopoly majority reward... since no one went out to gain immuntiy from Chance. Thanks for new fun game.
My 11-year-old daughter and I play Monopoly: The Card Came all the time. It has some of the flavor of Monopoly, but goes much quicker. Don't misunderstand me, it isn't the SAME as Monopoly, but feels very much related to it. We've tried all of the other Monopoly spin-offs from Advance to Boardwalk to Waterworks to Monopoly Express. All the others either flop right off the bat or fade fast, but this one has retained its interest for us. It has a little bit of strategy, but mostly luck of the draw. Its a neat quickie substitute for a real Monopoholic. If you like Monopoly and you like card games, I recommend it.
