Once you learn how to play them comfortably, chess and go become wonderful tools for 2 people to create some very intricate strategies. Kaos is like that. But you can learn to play Kaos in 3 minutes, and up to 4 people can play. And because there are more players, they can create even more very intricate strategies. Ones you can't create in the 2-player games.
Kaos also sharpens cooperative skills: When there are more than 2 players, unspoken, temporary alliances become unavoidable. But, temporary is a critical word here because there can only be 1 winner. So, in truth, this is the kind of cooperation usually associated with pirates and such. But since Kaos is a game, you're allowed to have fun with it.
Kaos is a pure strategy fun game for ages 8 and up. It's a "more the merrier" brain-powered game that you don't have to be a game expert to enjoy.

This is one of the best 'all strategy' games that I have ever played and will give chess lovers a run for there money. It is so simple in concept that you wonder why it hasn't come out sooner. I can't help but compare this to my all time favorite strategy game, chess. Both share a couple of highly valued game characteristics. The first is its high replay value and the other is its deceptively easy game mechanics. I use the word 'deceptive' because, like chess, your strategy will formulate the more you play.
This game is hard to quantify, it has elements of chess, and at the same time it is nothing like it. You have 4 pieces that you can move in different directions for a one or two moves at a given time. If you are familiar with chess this will be very quick to pick up, but a challenge to master (especially with four) the pieces move like a bishop (one or two moves in a diagonal direction or one or two moves in a lateral direction. The player who loses his Alpha piece loses the game.
As in chess this game is all about predicting moves and setting up the other players, but that is just the beginning, if you have played 4 way chess you will know where this is going rather quickly, if you have never played 4 way chess, be prepared to be over whelmed as attacks come at you from all directions and alliances are formed and broken with each move. This makes for exciting action.
The quality of the game is great it comes with a handy sack to carry the game in when you want to take it on the road, and the board is very durable as I can see it holding up over time
This game comes highly recommended, if you find four players who understand the game, you will not have a more diabolical time with a game.
