I used to play this game at about the age of four, and always had the greatest time with it. Unfortunately, I lost access to the game and spent more than half my life searching for it.
Upon getting the game again (The newest version) and wondering if I'd have the same amount of fun that I did as a child, I figured out that it indeed was.
The game never plays the same twice, and I find it very fun to chant Hugo as he moves, and we make him yell "I'm coming for you" in German randomly. He also glows in the dark. How isn't that cool?
This game works so that even if you're losing for the first two rounds, you can still pick up the pace and win at the last one. There's no prejudging who will win this game!
I to date have had no problems with this game, and the fact that it plays from two to eight people is a bonus.
I have played this game many times with my three kids (two of whom are now in college). We always have a great time with it. There is a surprising amount of strategy involved for such a relatively simple game, but yet even preteens can be competitive. In fact my youngest is our all time Hugo champion.
The game plays quickly and you have to be alert and thinking from the very beginning. A typical game with five players can be played in 30 - 45 minutes.
I highly recommend this game.
