Bridgette is a card game for two players with many of the thrills of four-handed bridge but with a number of innovations. If you are already a bridge player, then learning Bridgette will be very easy. If you have never played bridge, you will find Bridgette a fine introduction to the four-handed game.

Bridgette has been around for a long, long time, and has received accolades from many of the top bridge players and writers in the world. It takes the basic mechanics of four-handed bridge, and modifies them in a way that makes for a surprisingly good two-handed game. The main differences from the original include special bids that let players know some of their opponent's holdings, special colon cards that are used strategically to force a change in suits, and the exchange, where players can improve their initial hands. While intended for serious bridge players, the instructions include enough of a primer on basic bridge strategy for beginners to enjoy the game as well.
While the game's designer tinkered with the rules for over 25 years, Bridgette has settled down to become a true classic. Highly recommended.
This game has been the pike from Gamut of Games, to Xanadu, to Mayfair Games. While being placed in the Games Magazine Hall of Fame it remains almost unknown to the public at large. A pity. You don't have to be a bridge expert to enjoy this game--it is a classic in its own right. Hopefully a new company will pick this up (Is Winning Moves doing long lazy circles?) and produce it. Gamers who have never tried it are in for a big treat.
