Through luck and strategy, be the player who uses up all his cards!
Skip-Bo Deluxe offers a large game board, a handy storing space, a convenient score pad and a pencil.
Each player receives a stock pile of cards. Your goal -- get rid of them! With the convenient game board, play your cards in numerical sequence, from 1 to 12, into building piles. What will you do if the top card on your stock pile can't complete any building pile? Employ your own tactics to use the cards in your hand along with the cards in your discard piles. On your own or as a team, be the first to get rid of your stock pile and win!
Far more mean and strategic than uno, skip-bo is one of those games that keeps you wanting to strangle the other players as they screw you out of victory, by playing the card you're trying to get rid of. It's a fairly simple game, though slightly harder than a normal kids' game. any age can get into this (my first set came from my parents) though copious snacks and drinks might be necessary to keep people from getting violent towards one another at the twenty-something age.
This is an excellent sequencing game, but . . . if you play Spite & Malice with kings wild, that game is almost identical with Skip-Bo (Skip-Bo uses the equivalent of a triple deck).
Also, the 'stock piles' begin with too many cards, resulting in too long a game; fortunately, there's a short variation.
This game is infinitely superior to Parker Brothers' Flinch, because of the wild cards.
