The classic edition, with original artwork
May 23, 2003

One of the best family games ever; I've been playing it for nearly 40 years. First to exactly 700 miles wins--but you can gamble and extend to 1000. But your opponents can play flat tires, accidents and other hazards to stop or slow you down--however, if you have a trump card when they do, you 'coup fourre' them, gain 400 points, and start moving again. The strategy is what to do when, with a bit of card counting along the way.

My then-9-year old daughter and I won the LA con--she's now 20 and still talks about the fun she had staying up until 3 am to win 5 single-elim rounds!

Great fun game for kids and adults!
September 06, 2000

I used to play this game over 20 years ago. Found my old game (the 1962 version) in a closet one day and took it to the lake for the weekend with our 6 kids. Had to re-read the rules (it had been a while since I played). We started playing and are hooked! It's a blast. Am glad I found a site where I can order the collector's edition. Ours is getting worn out pretty quick because we play it so much. Thanks!
