Great expansion set
January 18, 2007

Having really loved the original Bohnanza I was excited to order this expansion set. As a previous reviewer mentioned you do get two different expansions in one game so it is like getting two games in one. The concepts in the expansion do increase the strategic level of the game and make for a much more challenging play then the original and we likely will always play the game with the expansions.

However, I do have one complaint about this expansion. To be able to play it you must remove elements from the original game (namely the coffee, wax, and cocoa beans). This mean if you play the expansion exclusively you have lost these bean elements from the game. If you like to play both then you are forced to continually sort the deck to accommodate the different games. This is tedious. I would have preferred an expansion that can be added to the entire original game, but that is a small complaint.

I must recommend this version to anyone who enjoyed the original.

A fun addition to a great game
January 04, 2005
At first I was skeptical about this expansion, but because we liked the original game so much we took a chance on this one. It's great. It really embellishes the game without changing it into something unrecognizable. New variables are added in when playing with the order cards, or using the buildings. Everyone has an additional thing to think about when planning their beans. I really like that there are two parts to this expansion that can be played independently of one another. It's like getting 2 expansions in one.
