Product Description

One of the most popular games ever designed, Ticket to Ride is a simple yet strategic game of connecting cities in the United States with trains. On their turn, players simply draw train cards, claim routes on the board, or draw more destination tickets. Players must balance drawing cards into their hand with claiming routes before opponents in this friendly, yet competitive board game. The rules can be taught in only a few minutes, but games are varied enough to give the game unlimited replayability. With scores of plastic trains and a beautiful board, this is a game you'll find yourself playing time and time again with all ages.

Great Family Fun for All
June 13, 2009

My entire family loves this game and the fact that it has five players means everyone can play. Although it can be cut-throat at times, everyone has a great time playing. The rules are simple and straight forward which means even my 5 year old has a great time!!!

Money well spent and a good time for all is in store!!! Great job Days of Wonder!!!

Very fun and challenging

I've only played this game once, so it's hard for me to make a completely informed judgment call on how good it really is. I'm still wondering if it's possible to break the game (such as by taking control of the midwest early in the game in order to dominate the scoring towards the end).

Much of the frustration I had with the game revolved around waiting to draw the cards I needed to build the trains I wanted to build. There's really nothing you can do about this and it often literally becomes "the luck of the draw" with regards to who gets to advance their train routes. This is in contrast to a game like Settlers, in which you can play the percentages in the early stages of the game to improve your luck. Due to the reliance on random card draws, the game moves a bit slow, though I'm sure it would speed up as players got more comfortable and familiar with the mechanics and their own strategies.

Still, it's a really fun game, and any game in which a map is involved gets a thumbs up from the geography nerd in me right out of the box. I'm sure I'll be playing this game again in the future, and I look forward to it.

Great 30 min fun!

This is a great game if you want to play something quick but with a fair amount of thought and strategic play. As one of my friends say, it "shines" with 3 or more players, but it is still a lot of fun with only two players, and you can finish it in 30 minutes or less. The only problem with two players is that you may spend a whole game without interfering with the other person's tracks, specially in the Europe edition.
