Finally! After many long qualifying games your country will finally compete in the next world championship. Your team is good -- but how good is it really? Will they make it to the finals, and perhaps even become the new champion?

This is a very enjoyable game where players attempt to win the world cup final. The game can be played as a very strategic game with as few as two players, a strategic or light fun game with 3 to roughly 7 players, and as a light party game with some strategy with up to a massive 32 players!
Players control 1 or more randomly allocated teams depending on the number of players. Each player is initially dealt 5 cards each of which has a number of goals (from 0 to 3) and a number of penalty shoot-out goals. In their turn a player plays one card face up for a team in the preliminary rounds and 1 card face down in a match in the final rounds. This is repeated with players drawing replacement cards from the deck until each team has had exactly 3 cards played for it and 3 cards played for each side in finals matches.
Results are then decided by adding up the number of goals for each team in the different pool groups with the 2 best scoring teams in each pool qualifying to go on. After working out which teams qualify to go through, the finals games can be finalised by turning over the cards that have been played to discover which team has gone on to win the world cup final.
Skill is required to try to set up a path of victories through the final matches before being entirely sure where your teams will finish in the preliminary rounds. Do you play a good card face up for one of your teams in a preliminary round when this may cause opponents to dump bad cards on that team to potentially eliminate them? Or do you hit opposition teams with bad cards and hope to play good cards for your teams at a more opportune time.
A very enjoyable game!
