Product Description

The first series of Wings of War Miniatures was an instant sucess, and now the game gets even more exciting with 4 new planes, each appearing in three different styles: the Fokker DVII, one of the best airplanes of the war; the Sopwith Snipe, the late-war fighter which gave back to the Allied forces the supremacy in the air they were losing; and the first two-seaters, the german Roland CII and the DH4, used both by the British and the Americans.

Each Wings of War Miniatures Airplane Pack is a complete model, painted and assembled, that can be used in your games of Wings of War and Wings of War Miniatures. In each pack you will find all you need to play with the model, including a gaming base with variable altitude stand and the special deck of cards used to maneuver the plane.

A boxed game set of Wings of War or Wings of War Miniatures is required to play.

The Sky Blue Baron?
October 16, 2008

LFG Roland C.II (von Richthofen)

I bought this plane with the idea it was one of the new 2-gun planes. It is NOT! It does however have one gun with a HUGE rearward firing arc. So that's pretty kewl, but if you loose your observer, you loose your gun and that's what happened to me the first time I played it. On the bright side it had a decent amount of maneuvers, is moderately fast and pretty sturdy at 16 hit points. Not a bad plane, I'm not sure why it's sky blue, I thought the pilot was known as the Red Baron? I do have his other plane, which IS red by the way, take a look at that review once it's up. 3 Stars for effort but -2 stars for one gun only. What's the point in having the larger planes if not for the dual guns? The other LFG Roland C.IIs are pretty good, better than this model, it's handicapped without the other cannon unless you fly it against 1-gun planes exclusively. Nice paint, great moves, that's it. Don't forget, you won't pass GO unless you're in the game.
