I was distraught when an earlier version of this game, Lunar Lockout, was discontinued, and delighted when it came back in this format and under a new name. This is the most satisfying puzzle game I've played. I can't explain exactly why, although I think it has to do with being forced to work things out mentally before making moves. I am unable to remember the move sequence, generally, so after a week goes by it's all new again! (Well, maybe that's more a statement about me than the game.) I bought multiple copies of Lunar Lockout to give to friends and kids of friends, And I'd do the same with this one. Truly a superb concept, neatly executed, and a lot of fun to play in an idle moment or intensively.
As a chess player myself, I bought this game for my six year old. I liked the idea of 'moves' and looking at a board a few moves ahead. It is simple, and the cards have many levels: Beginner, intermediate, advanced, and expert. Yes, a six year old can do the beginner set no problem. My son is challenged by the intermediate levels. I love the game, and play it when he's asleep. The concept is incredibly simple, but the puzzles can be tough, especially on the expert levels. As well, answers are displayed on the reverse of each card. It comes with it's own storage case - you only have to store one 'thing' and it is the size of a small dinner plate. By far, the best toy or game I've ever purchased for my kids.
