Fun but...
May 11, 2009

I enjoy Fluxx. It's a great gateway game.

I love Monty Python. ...Let's not try to explain why.

It would stand to reason that I would then enjoy Monty Python Fluxx, but I find it pretty laborious.

Unfortunately they didn't make Monty Python and the Holy Grail Fluxx. They tried to make it encompass all of Monty Python...but almost half of the deck is dedicated to that one property alone.

Furthering the bad balance of the game, there are way way way too many objectives. It's competely disproportionate to what is needed.

There are some real good fun cards in this game which always make us laugh, but the balance of cards, is really not well thought out and just devalues the experience.

In regular Fluxx I've had games end within five turns, which is cool. It helps with the random and spontaneity of the game. Monty Python Fluxx? I know I'm in for a 20 to thirty minute game and I know I'll have to reshuffle the deck at least once.

It just isn't as good as it could have been.
