Mozaika is a pattern creation game with a bit of blind bidding added to have players compete for components. Each turn, a new set of mosaic tiles is put up for bid, with the cheapest bidder receiving a fly that gets stuck on one of the tiles already in his mosaic, marring its smooth look. Players start with four tiles and acquire a new one each turn, giving them room for planning and preparation in their design as they place only one tile each turn on their individual 4x4 gameboard. By placing matching tiles next to one another, players earn money to be spent in future bids.
After sixteen rounds the game ends, and players score points for rows, colums and squares in which tiles share color, a central symbol, or both. Additional points can be scored by creating symmetrical patterns, while flies will reduce the score of any row in which they appear.
