Frustrating more than fun
November 25, 2015

Chickyboom consists of a bunch of wooden pieces (chickens, hay bales and wagon wheels) that you must remove from a teeter totter without making it tip over. Sounds fun except the game setup requires you to stack all the pieces on the teeter totter. The problem is, the thing is so stuffed with pieces that it almost always falls over after either the first or second turn. The kids have all their fun trying to stack everything up during setup trying to keep the teeter totter balanced while they put all the pieces on, and then the actual game averages about 10 seconds. Maybe I'm missing something but the rules are only 3 paragraphs long so I don't think so. I'd give it a 1 if my kids didn't love the setup so much. Components are awesome though and it is a fun stacking exercise but not the best game ever.
