Product Description

The architects of the future have drawn inspiration from every age. The cities of the future grow as quickly as the population demands and stretch endless miles. Control of the Infinite City means power and wealth -- but the city is growing so fast it's hard to maintain control.

In this tile-placing game, players build the city, trying to capture the largest territories while holding on to the most powerful and prominent structures in their quest to rule the Infinite City.

Outstanding Game to Have
February 19, 2011

We just played our first! Simply put, Infinite City is Carcassonne meets Citadels. If you like either of these games and have an itch to cut throats, this game is right up your alley. The game is beautifully illustrated and well balanced. I don't know for sure that we saw ALL the tile types played, but they played extremely well together without any one tile skewing the balance too far. The sky will be the limit in this game, as the nature of the game mechanic (tile placement) is limitless for expansion possibilities. Excellent replay value and component quality. I held back the 1/2 star based only on the fact that very few games are perfect, and the only flaw I could find (a minimal one at that) was the language dependency and visibility of print on some of the tiles. This is something that will vanish with familiarity of the tiles. Otherwise this would be a 5 star review.

Planning, Strategy and Fun

Learning Curve: Relatively shallow.
Experience level required: None required
Replayability: High
Strategy Required: Medium
Setup time: As you're playing

After a quick 5 minute explanation everyone understood the game mechanics. The tiles you play also double as a game board. The large amount of tiles in the full game make it great for a large group, but at the same time difficult for small spaces.

Pro: Easy to learn No setup time Enough to support 4+ players.

Con: Text is small and sometimes hard to read (this issue goes away as you play the game more and remember which tile does what) Large surface required Every tile is exactly square (makes swapping pieces difficult when they're in the center of the "board" See:Transit Station)

My Rating System Learning curve: Shallow, Moderate, High, What did I get myself into Experience level required: None, Light, Moderate, Heavy Strategy Required: Light, Moderate, Heavy Setup Time: As you’re playing, light (1-5 min), moderate (5-15 min), heavy (20+ min)
