This game is so easy to learn and fun to play. My 78 year old father came to visit us for a winter. Each day, he would play this game with my 9 and 7 year old sons. They had so much fun that they would expand the game past its 21 point wins rule, just so they could play longer. Lots of laughter and some trash talk across generations have made this game a family favorite. Well, Dad past away after spending those three months with us. As a tribute, my two boys and I play several times a week, reminiscing about how crazy and competetive Grandpa was, and simply how much fun they had each morning chopping down trees!
Not much of a reivew, more of a thank-you for the memories to its creators and a solid recommendation for this simple but thouroughly fun game.
Flapjacks & Sasquatches is a great family card game for 3-8 players (but we've played with more than 8 too). Similar in concept to Mille Bourne but better. Your goal is to chop down trees in the spirit of the lumberjack instead of collecting miles on a road trip. And there is no french to learn! There are cards that help you chop the trees faster (like "Titanium Axe") or slow others down (like "Blisters"). You might even get some help from Paul Bunyan or his ox, Blue. But beware of Sasquatch cards, they wreak havoc on the game! Very clever and great family fun. We are big game players in this family and this one is a keeper.
