Gauss is played on a hexagonal grid with one player being red and the other blue. Each player has ten of her own pieces and five of the opponent's. Get four or more of your pieces connected, and you'll score points -- the tricky aspect of the game is that when you place a piece on the board, all pieces of the same color flee as far as they can in a straight line while pieces of the other color move toward it. When the game ends, you lose points if you have more pieces in the outer rim than your opponent.
