Product Description

This is a classic Tom Wham game of warring kingdoms in a fantasy world and the legions of things that inhabit them. The board is made from hex tiles, which allows for a different board layout every time. Utilizing an interesting flipped counter element, players attempt to out bluff one another regarding the types of things they have in their armies.

Kings no, Things Yes
December 03, 1999

The first time I played Kings and Things was at a gaming convention where the GM didn't show. The six players decided to figure out the game based on the rulebook and the one person who had played before. The rules were simple enough to pick up and after three hours we were having loads of fun. The game ended through a special event I played which caused one of the players to lose a citadel.

I really liked the bluffing and stacking of power creatures. I had the 'Tower' which was an unstoppable stack--unfortunately, it was the only one I had. This game enterntained me so much, that I searched everywhere to buy the game. After attaining the Dragon #77 with King of the Tabletop and the GW version of Kings and Things I decided to help the rest of the hopefuls out there by posting the rules to the Internet. So, if you have the game or if you want to check out the easy rules, stop on by and leave your comments. This is a Best Buy! Buy this game or any version you can, it is the best!

Things are more fun than kings
April 28, 1999

Kings and Things has great components. It took us while to get the hang of the order of playing down. First gold is collected based on hexes owned. Next we roll for special characters with extra abilities. Collect things. Move things. Explore new hexes. Combat other things. Build to win with a citadel or 2!

I think this game has great potential once we know the characters better. The other fun part of the game is 'bluffing' with your creatures and not getting caught. Your things or creatures must be supported with a matching land hex but you can bluff this if you dare!

Great Game!
February 12, 2011

I loved this game - my gaming circle lost it when the owner was kidnapped at gun point and put in his trunk. We are happy he was ok at the end of the day, but it was a shame to lose the game.

I give it 3 stars rather than 4 because you can't find it... it's annoying, I don't give it five stars because it does have issues e.g. any player knocking out another enjoys a HUGE advantage, making the next hour and a half pretty painful if the remaining players want to fight it out.
