Super Stocks is a revised version of Fund Manager, which Playoff Games brought to Spiel in 2008. The goal of the game remains the same: End up with more money and assets than anyone else by buying and selling stocks. What's different about the game is both the graphic design and some details of game play. Instead of having to track items with pen and paper, the stock prices now have a track on the gameboard and the shares are colorful tiles. Players now have "expectation tokens" they can use to force the value of stocks higher or lower, thereby providing them with some assurance that their investments will pay off.
The game still includes random events on Market News cards, but an "Analyst" space has been added to the gameboard, giving players who want to lessen the random elements a chance to see the top card, then purchase shares in a single company.
One other change: Dollars have been replaced with Euros. A sign of what's coming in the future?
