As you can read in the review in the Games Magazine review above, the concept and mechanics of the game are great, but think twice. I opened it and was very disappointed to find not durable, appealing TILES inside, but thin cardboard pieces that you might have made yourself if you'd thought of it and could find the rules on-line.
Chess pieces and board magically merge in this intriguing game. Each player gets a full set of chess tiles, which are placed on the table one at a time, in connected fashion, and in turn. Play is similar to chess, with a few exceptions: (1) When you capture a king, you assume control over all remaining pieces in its color; (2) pawns move one square orthogonally and capture one square diagonally; (3) there's no castling, promotion, or capturing en passant; (4) you can't disconnect the board, and if capturing a king would disconnect the board, then the king isn't in check; and (5) you can move through your own pieces as well as through unoccupied space. For a more aggressive game, the rules suggest removing some pawns from play. So if you're bored with the chessboard, apply your wiles to these tiles.
