Product Description

Hanabi; named for the Japanese word for “fireworks,” is a cooperative game in which players try to create the perfect fireworks show. Trouble is, it’s dark out, so you can’t really see what you are working with!

Each player holds their cards so that only the other players can see them. They must give each other vital information and remember all the information in order to choose which cards to play. Helping each other play the right cards at the right time is the key to creating an unforgettable show and avoiding being booed by the audience!

In the deluxe version, the cards are replaced with beautiful Mah Jhong-like tiles! So build your fireworks and create a show that’s sure to be memorable!

We loved collaborating, not competing, in the card game Hanabi
December 29, 2015

My sister and her family play all kinds of games, all of them each person against the rest of the family members. Except Hanabi. What a break from the beating we take from my sister's middle child, who usually wins every game with ease. However, with Hanabi we're a team, all of us players trying our best to help each other with the right "hint" so that each person can put down or discard the most appropriate card. I haven't yet been a group that has given hints good enough to complete the piles, thus winning, yet I love the process and trying to fight the muscle memory to look at the card we draw after a play or discard.
