Product Description

Whether it's in comic books, movies, or fantasy novels, the forces of Good always seem to eke out a win over Evil. Once the minions and monsters have slithered back to the darkness, however, there's an Emperor, Evil Wizard, or Dark Overlord demanding to know why his or her plans fell apart. Aye Dark Overlord!: The Red Box is the classic version of the storytelling party game for four to seven players where Servants give their best excuses to appease their evil master, lest they suffer the wrath of their Dark Overlord. Hint cards give the players a framework for their story, but it's up to their wits to avoid the Withering Looks of the Dark Overlord and live to serve another day.

The Red Box is a re-release of the 2005 version of Aye, Dark Overlord! from Fantasy Flight Games. Players who have been groveling as minions or ruling with an iron fist as the Dark Overlord Rigor Mortis will already be familiar with this version of the game. You can even double the fun by expanding The Red Box with the brand new actions and Hint cards included in The Green Box.

Hilariously great game
February 09, 2011

This game is a hilariously great game. I haven't laughed so hard in a long time. The premise is one person plays the Dark Overlord, everyone else is a minion who has failed to complete a task. The task is to make someone else take the blame. To make up excuses you have cards that have a picture, title and short description. You can use anything off the card in your excuse. Players often find themselves building off each other as the story of how they failed get more and more detailed. You also have a second set of cards that allows you to pass the blame to another character or stop another character's excuse and of course your reason must have something from one of your "excuse" cards (these cards are replaced as they are used). Creative minds can come up with delightfully wicked excuses and the cards provide a lot to work with. Pl The overlord player has evil eye card and he give them out for poor excuses, being boring, or getting effectively caught with your pants down and not being able to pass the blame to someone else. There is no winner only a loser and he is the one who gets the 3rd evil eye. This is a fast paced game that had everyone rolling on the floor. We played about 6 games and it didn't even take 2 hours and we were laughing the whole time.
